Frequently Asked Questions

What are the ten most common questions a customer asks?

  • What is causing this problem?

Yellow, orange, or brown staining: most commonly caused by Iron
Black or pink staining: most commonly caused by Manganese
White scale buildup and spotting: caused by hardness
Other staining: There are substances such as Tannin’s that can cause staining, also if you have copper pipes and a low Ph it can cause staining (usually blue).

We offer free in-home basic water testing to determine the exact nature of the problem.

  • What treatment option is right for me? Can I just buy a system online and do it myself?

There are so many different options and each one is very specific. After we test the water we can provide you with a recommendation for a treatment system that is based upon your water test results. We also take into consideration our customer’s needs. For instance a customer may have hard water and we could recommend a water softener, or if they want less maintenance we have a salt free solution.

Systems online could work for you. To make it work you would want to get a complete water test. Evaluate the results and determine the correct system. Shut the water off to your home. Cut into the existing plumbing and interface the system in the correct way. Open a drain line to the outside of your home and sometimes flush the existing system. In some cases more steps are needed.

  • Where would you install a water treatment system?

The location of installation is dependent upon the space you have available and where we can access the main water line.  Some common locations: Well house, garage, laundry room, closet. If you do not have a well house or a spot to put a system in your home we can build you a custom shed and install the system there.

We are always glad to provide free site visits to determine the best possible location.

  • How long will it take to install the system?

Most installations take 3-5 hours depending upon the difficulty and space we have to work with.

Don’t worry your water will not be shut off that whole time.  When we install a water treatment system we run the lines from the systems to where they will be connected to your main water line.  We only shutoff the water when we are ready to make the final connection so your water is normally only off for 15-30 minutes.

  • How much does the system cost?

The price of the system depends on the size and type of system.  We size our systems based upon flow rates, household size and the amount of people using water.  We have systems for virtually every water related issue and the price of the system varies depending on how specialized it is.  We would be glad to provide you with a free estimate once we know what’s in your water.

  • What is the maintenance for the system?

If you have a system that is self cleaning and utilizes salt during the cleaning process you will need to add salt each month. Some companies will tell you to completely fill your brine tank up with salt, however as the salt pellets dissolve the overhead weight causes it to condense and form something called a “salt bridge.”  A salt bridge occurs when the salt pellets form together into something that is like a sheet of ice, and can result in service calls. We recommend keeping your brine tank 60-70% full and adding a bag of salt per month  (or as needed).

We also have salt free solutions which require no real maintenance, however the media is exhaustible and will need to be replaced periodically.

  • If I want to move forward what do I need to do?

We make it really easy to move forward, when we send you a quote it will provide you with the option to approve it. After that we set up your installation for a time that is convenient for you and we can usually complete a job within a half a day.

You can also give us a call, text or email and let us know you want to move forward.

  • If I approve the quote, how long until you’re able to do the installation?

If we have the system in stock we are normally able to perform the installation within one week from the time you approve the quote.

If we do not have the system in stock we will immediately order the system once we have received an approved quote. It takes approximately 7-10 days for our shipments to arrive, and once your system arrives we will contact you to schedule the installation.

  • What is in your media? Is it environmentally and health friendly?

Our media is made of naturally occurring elements, there is nothing we use that hurts the environment. We understand these concerns; every system we use is a microcosm of balance where the chemical used to extract the unnatural element that might poison your body or damage your appliances is then counteracted within the system itself, so when the water flows into your house or into your cup it is some of the cleanest water you’ve ever experienced.

  • What payment methods do you accept? How do I pay?

We accept payment by check, cash or credit card.

We want you to have great water and understand that sometime financing is needed. We are willing to provide financing if you have a clear way of making payments in a reasonable time frame.
